A call for HELP... *UPDATE* (BY THE BY see bottom)
This post goes out to all my fabulous loyal readers... I am asking for your help.
A friend of mine is desperate to find a light at the end of her darkest tunnel...
I know in my heart that if everyone who reads my blog takes a minute to show some support on her & her little girls behalf, that Sun Ying will be home before you know it & will once & for all experience the joys of a 'FOREVER FAMILY'!
So, I'm BEGGING EVERY READER OF MY BLOG FROM ALL CORNERS OF THE GLOBE TO FIND IT WITHIN THEIR HEARTS TO LEND A VOICE AND SOME SUPPORT...
LET'S ALL HELP BRING SUN YING HOME WHERE SHE BELONGS!!!

Dear Harlan Tenenbaum,
As an adoptive mother to a beautiful little girl who was waiting for her 'forever family' last year, I can NOT imagine being denied my TA to GO GET HER! If my agency DID NOT release my TA to me to travel & get my daughter I'd be BESIDE MYSELF! I understand that as an agency you need to be sure that the families you're placing these children with are wonderful & loving, HOWEVER- IF THE CLAIMS FROM THAT WOMAN CONCERNING SUN YING'S FAMILY WERE UNSUBSTANTIATED & LATER RETRACTED, WHAT GOOD DOES IT DO YOU TO KEEP A MOTHER & CHILD APART? I COMMEND YOU ON YOUR EFFORTS TO BE SURE THESE CHILDREN ARE PLACED IN LOVING HEALTHY HOMES BUT HONESTLY, THERE'S A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEING PRUDENT & JUST BEING PLAIN RIDICULOUS! I DEMAND THAT YOU RELEASE SUN YING'S TA TO HER MOTHER SO SHE CAN FLY TO GET HER BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER & COMPLETE HER FAMILY ONCE AND FOR ALL! THIS LITTLE GIRL SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR HER DREAM TO COME TRUE ANY LONGER THAN IS NECESSARY AND YOU HAVE THE POWER TO SPEED THAT UP SO WHY NOT DO IT?! FOR GOD SAKES HAVE A HEART & LET THIS WOMAN COMPLETE HER FAMILY & GIVE THIS LITTLE GIRL THE LOVE OF A FOREVER FAMILY & A BRIGHT FUTURE!

So everything she's gone through thus far doesn't count? She doesn't get her daughter? That's CRAP! I know you're dedicated to finding homes for all these children but THIS little girl is meant for THAT FAMILY!
If your accusations were unfounded & retracted in the end, and CHINA ALREADY GAVE THE GREEN LIGHT FOR THIS FAMILY, who are YOU to play GOD & step in & stop it?
I would be absolutely ASHAMED if you were my agency!
And I'll be sure to put out the word to all those looking to adopt to avoid your agency. I think my blog that is read by THOUSANDS should do the trick.
Shame on you & everyone there. How do you sleep at night KNOWING that you are DENYING this woman the right to be that little girls MOTHER and MORE IMPORTANTLY, denying that little girl her FOREVER FAMILY?

Amy-
Please get all of the facts prior to making such a conclusion. We are not here
to cause anyone to be distraught. As a non-profit, our mission is to find homes
for children. It would be easy for us to just "give-in," right now, and not do
the right thing. However, we would never prevent someone from adopting unless
we had cause. Unfortunately, we have cuase in this matter.

It's Sun YING, NOT Sun MING, and you seemed to have spelled a few things wrong in your last letter, shame you don't pay as much annoying attention to details like the CHILDREN'S NAMES as you do to RUINING OF THE LIVES OF THOSE WAITING CHILDREN & THE PARENTS WAITING TO UNITE WITH THEM. I know all about you, I know folks who have told me things about you not returning phone calls to them, ignoring issues that have come up during the adoption process, non profit or not, you seem Crooked with a captial C in my book & anyone associated with you should be TERRIFIED that at any moment, they too could be faced a similar situation & all their hopes & dreams will come crashing down around them in an instant! All because you feel like being a ballbuster & not as you say "giving in", God Forbid to SOME DREAMS COMING TRUE!
Look, I've been THROUGH this process, I KNOW WHAT IT TAKES to get to the point of being issued a TA from China! CLEARLY THE WOMEN WHO WAS INSANE ENOUGH TO SAY THINGS ABOUT SUN YING'S MOTHER IS THE ONE YOU SHOULD BE LOOKING AT AS IT'S NOTHING MORE THAN A CASE OF 'YOU ENDED OUR FRIENDSHIP, I'LL FIND THE BEST WAY TO HURT YOU BACK' GRADESCHOOL ANTICS & SHE CHOSE GOING AFTER HER ADOPTION IN WHAT CAN ONLY BE VIEWED AS THE POOREST OF JUDGEMENT CALLS! HOWEVER- Everyone please check out this Blog, as I've just noticed that this person added MY Blog to hers without my prior permission. Upon further scanning, MOST OF YOU are on it as well. I don't know who this woman is at ALL so I am not comfortable being linked to anyone I don't know personally who didn't at least have the foresight to ask me FIRST. If you're friends with her so be it. Otherwise, if you find yourself linked to her blog without your prior permission and are like me, are NOT OK with that, I would suggest that you tell her so. Sorry, but I call a spade a spade. Put yourself in that mother's shoes and you tell me you wouldn't feel the same way? I'm the woman who says what EVERYONE ELSE IS THINKING, plain & simple.
If you think that he's a nice guy, that's your misconception, but I for one speak my mind, always have, always will... even if that means calling him a BASTARD.

Wow~ just hearing about this now. Her TA is being held? Have they told her why and what she can do to get it? oh my...what a mess! We are awaiting our TA still and I know how hard this is..I cannot imagine what your friend is going through. Just soo so sad. I will pray for her and whatever this situation is and that it be reconciled soon. So much hurt and pain when there should be joy.

It is unfortunate that this has happened, however, there are many sides to a story, and most people only have one. I will gladly answer questions via private email.
Yes, that is my blog that is linked, and as requested, I removed her link. I would do the same for anyone else who does not wish for others to see their blogs linked. I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused her or anyone else by placing links to their blogs on my site. I enjoy reading each and every one of them, which is why they are linked.
I hope that this whole situation does not impede anyone else's adoptions as it is taking precious time from processing their client's adoptions to deal with constant emails, phone calls, and more from people who are wondering what exactly has transpired.
I will leave with one statement: It is ALWAYS better to tell the truth. You never know what a lie will do to your life. This should be a prime example. Had the truth been told from the very beginning, there would be no need for any of this.

Just a comment from someone that is on the corporate side of things, Dearest Amyla ... I love you but your email could get YOU in trouble ... Based on what I have seen, this Adoption House could get you on slander and harassment ... and regardless of whether they are reputable or not, I'd bet they know the people who could cause more damage than good to you and Ruby Cate.
Your heart's in the right place honey ... but you could wind up getting yourself into some serious hot water with that email.
Be careful ... especially since you don't know the entire story (unless I'm mistaken?) Do we know what charges were brought up and then supposedly dropped? The reason I ask is because I could very easily post that one statement blog as was done on behalf of Sun Ying and no one would be the wiser for what the real story behind it was ...

Lisa, absolutely it's a compliment, but there's a right & wrong way to do things publicly online... had she asked first, of course I'd have said ok & been done with it. It's just common courtesy to ask first rather than just go ahead & do so... kinda like posting photos, I wouldn't do it without prior concent from the owner of said photo. That said, yes, she did take down my link which I thanked her for doing & I still stand by what I said to that jerk from the agency. Everyone do their research... he's crooked & it's about time someone called him on it.

Thanks for bringing light to the "crookedness" of this agency and director. Anyone can google his name and more importantly that name along with courts in Delaware and you'll be surprised at what you find!!!!!
And Deidre, yes I know all the information & it's sad & true, he's crooked like a question mark & sadly, innocent children are now going to pay for his ignorance, dishonesty & greed. The almighty dollar should not be more important than the future of an orphaned child but unfortunately in this case, he cares more about his fancy cars & expensive shoes to do the right thing.
And Jennifer... yes it's always better to tell the truth, perhaps a page you should reexamine from your own book now & then. Remember, I know more than you think I do, be careful.

Ok, I will relax in a bit ;) but just wanted to post a thought. I'm a total believer in karma......what goes around, comes around. So the person that is in question over this whole mess should not be living with a good conscience. I don't know how she wakes up everyday and can look in the mirror and feel good about herself! I don’t have all the facts either however someone mentioned doing a Google search on his name and I couldn’t find anything bad. He is a lawyer, he does pro bono cases for adopting parents and he lobbied for a bill to be passed to help all adopting families to afford the fees and expenses that come with private adoption.
I hope all adopting parents are taking advantage of this bill which allows a $10,000 tax credit for adopting parents. I hope all the agencies that helped you adopt, outlined how you can claim this on your taxes.
HR 622 The Hope for Children Act
On June 7, 2001 the US House of Representatives passed the Hope for Children Act by a vote of 420 to 0. This Act expanded the adoption tax credit to $10,000 for all adoptions, enabling thousands of people to adopt who otherwise wouldn't be able to. We at HOPE for Children are particularly proud of the passage of this Act because it was named after our agency! A champion of the Act, then Senate Majority Leader, Newt Gingrich asked our agency for permission to name it the Hope for Children Act.
Try searching FURTHER than his name. Try his DADDY that works for Adoption House too - Joel. His court case is like a B rated porno - ask THOSE women how wonderful the Tenenbaums are.
Try Delaware Adoption Consultants that AH paid 116k to last year for "consulting"...and when you talk to Harlan ask him how he bought that VW Toureg and Prius. DO YOUR RESEARCH before spouting off your bullshit.
Ask him what fibs he told to get his license, how he scammed parents for $$$ in the past, the list goes on and on.
While you're on the phone ask him how he's adopting a child to a person that wasn't employed when they applied to his agency and when they submitted their LOI. Ask him how someone adopts from China when they're not divorced and doesn't have to include their husband on the paperwork. OH yes -since he's an attorney ask him what would make a judge sign a piece of paper stating a MOTHER couldn't post pictures of her children on the internet, children she does not have custody of. After he tells you then ask him how AH adopts to people like that.
Don't be blinded with the smoke and mirrors. He uses intimidation to get the chicken shit people to back off, that's his MO.
When I said I hope everyone knows about the tax break I meant it. We all need every bit of help we can get. I didn’t do any searches on his father, and don’t plan on doing any further searches. Nor would I even call them, to ask them about all their wrongs. Amy’s site is a joy and a blessing, it helps so many, and so many of us enjoy reading it and following along about Ruby and Amy. You are angry about the situation and I don’t appreciate your comments and obscenities toward me. I don’t know the whole story and I never will, I didn’t read anything bad about HT and just stated what I saw, in summary, as well as stating the tax law so if just one person reads that and saves some money, then Amy’s site can be of help to one another. Amy, You wouldnt just take someone's pictures or link to them without prior approval but this is cyber land and your blog is not password protected. It makes you vulnerable to such things IMO Its good she took down your link but im sure someone else will come along and do the same thing..I guess I dont get it because I dont waste so much energy on such things. Hope the TA works out for your friend.
Typically I try not to waste time on crap like that to be honest HOWEVER, when I find out who it is who has linked me & what their connection is with the situation at hand, honestly... I want NOTHING to do with it, and being linked on a blog makes it appear as if I may be friends with or condone actions of this person, which I do NOT.
I am glad that everyone enjoys reading my blog, I enjoy writing it for everyone & love that it's public... too manhy things in life aren't. Freedom of speech is big on my list of priorities, as well as freedom to blog, but within reason & always with COMMON COURTESY. I'm sure you can all agree.
And I loved that you posted about the tax credit, I'm sure alot of those out there didn't know about that so thank you for bringing that to everyone's attention.
