I am so sorry but there is no Asian America. There is Asia and there is America. Join one or go back to the other. I realize that this is extremly inflamatory. But America is about being an American. Not an Asian-American or an Egyptian-American or an African-American or an anything else. Just an American. We left those places to come to one that was susposed to be better. If you want to celibrate your ancestors...fine. I am of Irish descent (2nd gen) and Swedish descent (also 2nd gen) and I like to drink Harps and listen to Celtic music. I also enjoy fishing and snow. And I don't expect the rest of the country to stop for Irish holidays or to go fishing when it snows or drink with me when its cold. I am an American. I just hope you respect my right to drink while I fish. As I fully expect to respect your right to be an American too.
I hear what you're saying, but I slightly disagree because I am first generation Italian American and when people ask what Ruby is, my answer to them is as follows; She's an Italian American of Chinese descent.
I'm an American first but my heart is & always will be an ITALIAN American.
I really believe to each his own... but this guys rant moved me so I felt the need to share.
